How do you hide a user account in Windows 8 and add an "Other User" icon to the Windows 8 user account list?
I'm running Windows 8 Pro on my laptop, and I wanted to set up a hidden account and add a "Other User" box to the Windows login selection on a WORKGROUP
computer. I have seen this done before, but I can't seem to get it worked out. I ended up not being able to hide the account after trying a couple of things from online. I saw the "Interactive logon: Do not display last user name" policy in Local
Security Policy panel, but it hides every user account on the computer behind a classic logon prompt. I don't want all of them hidden, because I have two other users who can't remember their username. I just want it to have a button to click for it on the
user list. Can someone please help me out with this problem. Thanks.

The method in this article didn't work. For one, the author left the instructions somewhat incomplete showing a different location than specified selected. It highlights the Winlogin key in the registry, which didn't exist in that directory. Also,
because it says it's for XP it says to use the double CTRL-ALT-DEL method. It doesn't work as it was excised with Vista. Sorry.

Hello Kelby, (and the Community)
Did you find a solution for your issue. I do have exactly the same, but no answer anywhere on the internet...
I'm very disappointed.

Phil
